Reasons Why Churches Spread the Teachings in the Bible
The teachings in the Bible are spread to Christians in practically all churches, whatever is the method adopted by that particular congregation. It is predominant for these churches to teach verses in the Bible with the objective of sending out the messages of God in the most accurate manner, while respecting and recognizing the words of God to His people. Churches have the objective of teaching the words of God in the most in-depth manner and yet with accessibility, to be understandable and yet not overly simplified for the Christian listeners.
Several people may ask why Bible study is important to Christians when in fact the church is distributing the messages in the Bible during mass or when Christians congregate. There are some reasons by Christian believers would point out as to why it is still needed to do some Bible study. God’s words are reflected on the Bible, and by studying it, we will get to know more about our God, why He thinks in such a way, and what and how He thinks in that context. And to enjoy all the blessings of God and escape destruction, the Bible teaches us how God operates.
Studying the Bible would mean revelation of our position in Christ, and this is one reason why we study the Bible. The Bible is centered around our Lord Jesus Christ from Genesis to Revelation, with the scriptures pointing our salvation by Jesus. It is revealed to us through studying the Bible that we can exercise triumph only in Christ, and that we are taught how to gain access to this victory.
Our inheritance in Christ and what belongs to us are revealed in the Bible as we study it. Paul said in Acts 20:32 that through the words of God we will be able to inherit healing, prosperity, long life, peace and ultimately eternal life, and these words are sanctified. It is said that if we are ignorant of what we stand to enjoy as Christians, the devil will cheat and destroy us for this lack of knowledge.
In the Bible, it is revealed that Christians have authority over the devil, thus the devil does not have dominion over the Christians.
We attain spiritual growth as we read the Bible, just like when we give nourishment to our body when we eat. Through Bible study, young Christians will grow spiritually and become matured Christian believers, by keeping the word of God in their hearts, keeping them away from sins.
